Correlation and the Quadrants
The green lines separate the scatterplot below into four quadrants by dividing
each variable at its mean. The correlation is largest when most of the points
lie either in the first and third or the second and fourth quadrants.
Correlation and the Regression Line
The scatterplot below shows the best-fitting regression line. As the correlation
increases, the points fall closer to the line.
