Bishop's University is extremely pleased to announce the inauguration of our new 0.45 metre telescope as the Scott Griffin Telescope. Scott Griffin is the outgoing Chancellor of Bishop's University who has been a major benefactor and supporter of the Observatory during his tenure. His generosity, leadership, and support of many initiatives at Bishop's University will benefit generations of students and faculty alike.

Bishop's University is excited to announce that it has installed a new 17" (0.45 metre) PlaneWave CDK telescope with a German equatorial mount in the observatory (to see it, click here). A new PierTech pier was also installed.

Bishop's University has officially awarded the Hugh Haugland Prize for Astronomy. Hugh was a long-time CTV cameraman and amateur astronomer who died tragically while working last August. Andres Zambrano is the first recipient of this new prize. Coverage of the award ceremony, which aired on the CTV national network, can be found on the CTV website.
